Morningwood breaks

With all that flaying around and rock star posturing, it's no wonder that a million band members have injured themselves on-stage (hell, just go ask Dillinger Escape Plan). But Thursday night, as we prepared to hit up a Camel™-sponsored concert at Webster Hall featuring The Sounds and local faves Morningwood (remember "Nth Degree"?), we came across a unique rock'n'roll injury: the pre-stage fall.

According to one concert promoter, the guitarist for Morningwood fell off the stage before the show started, for some unknown reason and in an undisclosed fashion. Sadly, he apparently injured/separated/broke his shoulder and was rushed to the hospital...and the 'wood did not play.

However, it was nice to hear The Sounds, who deftly mixed early New Wave with, ahem, a Swedish angle (let's call their fashion style "ve unbutton our shirts to be sexy rockers, yes?"). The band actually has a song called "Hit Me" (sample lyric: "Hit me hard. Hit me right between the eyes, I wanna see the stars, hit me, hit me!"). Spousal abuse to a Human League beat!
